Market-to-book ratio in stochastic portfolio theory

چکیده
We study market-to-book ratios of stocks in the context stochastic portfolio theory. Functionally generated portfolios that depend on auxiliary economic variables other than relative capitalisations (“sizes”) are developed two ways, together with their returns respect to market. This enables us identify value factor (i.e., ratio) such when stocks’ book values. Examples portfolios, as well empirical results, given, evidence addition size, does affect performance portfolio.

Portfolio Size in Stochastic Portfolio Networks Using Digital Portfolio Theory
The investment portfolio with stochastic returns can be represented as a maximum flow generalized network with stochastic multipliers. Modern portfolio theory (MPT) [1] provides a myopic short horizon solution to this network by adding a parametric variance constraint to the maximize flow objective function. MPT does not allow the number of securities in solution portfolios to be specified. Int...
متن کاملMarket Risk - Adjusted Dividend Policy and Price - to - Book Ratio
This paper offers a new mathematical formulation that addresses the relationship between expected price-to-book ratio, dividend per share, dividend payout ratio, systematic and unsystematic risks. The sample includes the non-financial firms in the DJIA covering the period 1997-2006. The general results show that the expected price-to-book ratios are: (a) positively associated with the expected ...
متن کاملCover’s Universal Portfolio, Stochastic Portfolio Theory and the Numéraire Portfolio
Cover’s celebrated theorem states that the long run yield of a properly chosen “universal” portfolio is as good as the long run yield of the best retrospectively chosen constant rebalanced portfolio. The “universality” pertains to the fact that this result is model-free, i.e., not dependent on an underlying stochastic process. We extend Cover’s theorem to the setting of stochastic portfolio the...
متن کاملStochastic Portfolio Theory: an Overview
Stochastic Portfolio Theory is a flexible framework for analyzing portfolio behavior and equity market structure. This theory was introduced by E.R. Fernholz in the papers (Journal of Mathematical Economics, 1999; Finance & Stochastics, 2001) and in the monograph Stochastic Portfolio Theory (Springer 2002). It was further developed in the papers Fernholz, Karatzas & Kardaras (Finance & Stochast...
متن کاملBook Review: Stochastic Modeling: Theory and Reality
For decades, actuaries have historically used statistical and financial models that were inherently considered deterministic in the sense that random fluctuations are often ignored, although some type of sensitivity of the parameter and model assumptions have been employed to have a sense of the possible variation in the results. Today, such sensitivity analysis is unacceptably appropriate when...
